This is oil on 8x8 canvas board. A very small piece but I didn't want my first painting of a person to be really big.
I have never painted people before so this is a new challenge for me. I still need to work on the nose a bit and finish the background. I have no idea yet what I want to put behind her to fill some of the negative space. I also still need to add the obi around her midsection (what little you can see of it) and possibly put some additional accessories and pins in her hair.
